Lipica is a small village located in the southern part of Slovenia, near the border with Italy. It is known primarily for its long association with the Lipizzaner horse breed, which is considered one of the oldest cultural horse breeds in the world.

The center of the village is known as Lipiška gmajna, where one of the oldest European stables for breeding Lipizzaner dogs is located. This part of Lipica was founded in 1580 and represents an important part of Slovenia's cultural heritage. Here are beautifully preserved stables that are home to more than 300 Lipizzaner horses.

There is also Kobilarna Lipica, which is recognized as the birthplace of the Lipizzan horse breed. The stud farm is open to visitors who have the opportunity to meet and see these beautiful white horses. Visitors can visit the Lipica Stud Museum, where they can learn more about the history and breeding of the Lipizzaner. In addition, they also organize horse shows and performances that showcase their elegance, dance steps and high school of riding.

The surroundings of Lipica are also beautiful and offer many opportunities for outdoor recreation. There are well maintained walking and cycling routes where visitors can explore the picturesque countryside that surrounds it. In addition, Lipica is also the starting point for various hiking trails in the nearby Karst, where visitors can enjoy the beautiful nature, karst caves and vineyards.

In addition to horses and nature, Lipica also offers opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment. There are restaurants where visitors can try traditional Slovenian cuisine, as well as hotels and apartments for comfortable accommodation.

Together, we can say that Lipica is the right destination for lovers of horses, nature and those who want a peaceful vacation in a beautiful environment.
